Gowrie Park New Years Eve Chopping Carnival

The day was warm and there were a good number of members with displays for this event, there also seemed to be more interest from the crowd this year. Maybe because we were sited a bit closer to the arena and therefore more visible.
For those who enjoy the chops the entertainment was great, with some world class choppers present. The tree climb chop creates a lot of interest too, their balance is superb as they wield those axes!!
Most of the members continued on to Gerry’s home for a bbq tea and of course the highlight is perusing Gerry’s pristine collection in his sheds. There is always an air of amazement at his unique skills, and how he can adapt a tool to do a specific task for him. His determination to find a way to do a job defines the character of this special man, I think we all stand in awe of his achievements
